Changelog
Every version of Kept, newest first.
1.1
Return now pastes for real, and switching from another clipboard app is painless.
- Kept runs without Apple's App Sandbox, because the sandbox forbids the Accessibility permission that pasting for you needs. Your 1.0 history and settings move over by themselves on first launch.
- Kept contains no networking code. It never opens a connection, every release build is checked by a script that fails if networking code is linked, and Apple's notarisation checks it for malware.
- The menu bar icon opens the full panel; double-click a row and it is pasted. A Clipy-style history menu is the alternative in Settings.
- Paste directly is on from the first launch. macOS asks once for the Accessibility permission the first time Return would paste.
- Plain text into Slack, Terminal, iTerm2, Warp, Ghostty and, by default, every browser, so Jira, Zendesk and web Slack never get stray fonts. Hold ⌥ to paste as copied. Settings › Pasting lists the apps.
- ⌥⌘Return wraps a snippet in a code block for Slack, Jira and GitHub comments. ⌥⌃Return pastes a link without its tracking parameters.
- The same text copied as a link and again as plain text is one item.
- Paste options everywhere: ⌥Return or ⇧Return for plain text, ⌘Return joins lines into one (for terminal commands), ⌃Return pretty-prints JSON. Code always pastes as plain text.
- JSON is recognised and previewed pretty-printed.
- Quick paste lists your pins above your recent copies, and opens at the pointer with ⌥ right-click or a middle click.
- Coming from Clipy, Paste, Flycut, Maccy, Alfred, Raycast or Windows? Pick it in the welcome window or Settings and Kept uses the same shortcut.
- The
keptcommand lists, searches and copies your history from Terminal. Settings › General has the one-line install.
